Mt Taylor Gravity Enduro Report
In its second year, the Mt Taylor Gravity Enduro proved its an event to stay with the biggest turnout for one of our club events so far, and this year’s addition of the social shuttle day on the Saturday proved to be a big hit!
With competitors enjoying shuttle access to both the downhill and all-mountain trails on Saturday, we can be sure to see more ‘social shuttle days’ in the nearby future as this was an event enjoyed by all riders.
Come race day, the weather made a turn to challenge riders, as most people completed their first run in the dry, just to have the weather turn on their second run and turn the trail into a flowing river.
Despite the inconsistency in track conditions competitors gave it their all with Damien Moran taking the number one place in the event with a time of 10 minutes and 58 seconds, followed by Dru Berryman and Tim Harrington.
The women’s event was taken out by our own event organiser, Jacinta Nelsson, who put in an incredible amount of effort organising the event and claimed 1st place amongst the women with a time of 12 minutes and 58 seconds followed by Tracey McGuire and Lauren Fox.
It was also fantastic to see the number of juniors out on the course with 18 junior riders competing in their designated age groups with riders Jack Taylor (U17) and Thomas Fisher (U19) finishing in 5th and 6th outright!
On behalf of Gippsland MTB I would like to thank all the volunteers who made the weekend run as smooth as it did and especially to Andrew Sharpe and Jacinta Nelsson who’s efforts made this event possible. Our next event will be the Colquhoun Social ride on the 23rd July.
