Blores Hill Checkpoint Race – 23-Aug-2009

After the success and feedback from the recent Colquhoun 3 Stage Race, in particular the “Rally” Stage of that event, we are holding our first Checkpoint Race at Blores Hill on Sunday 23-Aug. The goal of this event is that competitors ride to and find as many designated Checkpoints within the Blores Hill MTB Complex and then return to the finish control within a designated time period.

Points will be awarded for number of Checkpoints access as well as the difficulty of those Checkpoints, i.e. the more difficult a point is to access, the more points you get for finding it. The locations and values of each Checkpoint will be provided to competitors on a map at the start of the event. Riders will then have time to design their own route around the park that they believe that they can complete in the allocated time. There is no set course or order in which the Checkpoints are to be accessed, and riders can ride as individuals or as a part of a team.

This event is open to both GMTB members and non-members, we always welcome new faces at our events so feel free to bring anyone along who may be interested.
