Gippsland MTB is moving towards offering many more opportunities for social riding events in 2017. We hope these events will appeal to all types of riders including racers, recreational riders and families.

Our first major social event for 2017 will be held on the awesome trails of Falls Creek from Friday February 3rd to Sunday February 5th. You can choose to ride the xc and backcountry trails or book shuttles to session the multiple descending options on offer. Either way the major highlight is the 10km descent from the summit to the entrance station at Howmans Gap which includes amazing views from the trig at Frying Pan Spur and long flowy descents down High Voltage,  Wishing Well and the awesome new Flowtown trail. After all this you can kick back in the hot tub and enjoy the friendly hospitality of our hosts at Diana Alpine Lodge.

You make your own way to Diana Alpine Lodge on the Friday afternoon or evening.  We have arranged comfortable, 3 or 4 share accommodation for Friday and Saturday night. This includes a full cooked breakfast both mornings and BBQ dinner Saturday night with a variety of meat and salad options. These guys do catering very well so you won’t go hungry. You can purchase lunch at any of the café options on the mountain. All you need to bring is your usual riding gear, swimming gear, spare clothes, drinks and snacks. There is a small Food Works supermarket on the mountain if needed. There are small fridges in the rooms to store your drinks and snacks. Trail/AM bikes are the best option for Falls Creek but short travel XC bikes will get down all the trails. DH bikes are not recommended.

The cost for the accommodation and meals is $155 per person and must be paid when you register. There is a limit of 20 riders that can be accommodated so register early to guarantee your place.

For anyone who would like to use the shuttles you need to book this separately through Blue Dirt before Tuesday 31st January to guarantee your place. It is sometimes possible to sign up on the day but places are limited. The cost for shuttles is $50 for 1 day or $90 for both days. Shuttles run from 9am to 4pm.
