Gippsland MTB 3 Stage Race

What: Round 4 of the Gippsland MTB championship (aka: Lycra Strikes Back)

Where:

  • Forestech, Princes Highway, Kalimna

  • Sunday, 24th May 2009
  • Registration from 9:00am
  • Briefing at 9:45am
  • Racing at 10:00am

Costs:

  • $10 Entry Fee
  • $5 Timing Tag deposit (refundable)
  • $15 MTBA Day License if not a holder of an MTBA Racing License

Stages:

  1. 10km Time Trial
    • 10 kilometre time trial of singletrack & fire trail, starting & finishing at Forestech, in 1 minute intervals. Perfect opportunity for lycra wearing whippets to show off their bling & make it back fast to scoff some pies & dim sims.
  2. 2 Hour Enduro
    • 2 hour enduro, again starting & finishing at Forestech… 5 km loop, gentle, fun singletrack.
  3. MTB ‘Rally’
    • Riders will be paired and must stay together at all times, will be given a list of specific navigational instructions, one rides & navigates, one rides & keeps track of distances. Officials WILL pair husband & wife riders together, period. This event was stolen from the keen adventure race, and the route has been selected by keen adventure racer herself, Sharon Blegg.

  • Riders will gain points for each discipline for an overall score.

Timbers Cafe at Forestech will be open, especially for us!!! Please ensure you support them. All events will start & finish in close proximity to the cafe.
