GMTB NEEDS YOU!
This is the call out to you – our riding community to get behind GMTB and help support the KONA Victorian Downhill Mountain Bike Championships at Mount Baw Baw next weekend. We are after riders, friends, family, spectators and volunteers to get up to Mount Baw Baw on Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th of February. Show your support by having a go in the downhill racing event which has a category to suit every skill level or get on the sideline and cheer the riders down the hill giving them encouragement with whatever you can find that will make a loud noise (bells, whistles, megaphones and truck horns are all advisable!).
There is a large prize pool up for grabs in every class ($2900 cash and $3500 worth of prizes) and you will get to see the best downhill riders in the state, and some interstate and international riders take on the mighty Mount Baw Baw! We are after a committed group to help GMTB run the event, and are desperately seeking 20 volunteers that can help out on Saturday between 8am and 5pm and on Sunday between 7am and 6pm. We have a variety of jobs for the volunteers including, driving shuttle vehicles (if you are over 25), course marshalling and radio checkpoints along the downhill course. All volunteers will be provided with a free lunch, muffins, drinks and snacks, a Hi-Vis fluro orange GMTB event crew vest and a whistle during the event. If you are interested in helping out on the weekend please shout out, drop a line in the forums or contact GMTB President – Nick King on 0439924465.
