Gippsland MTB 3 hour enduro
Sunday 24th August saw GMTB’s second race at Colquhuon Forest, Lakes Entrance on an overcast but not unpleasant winter’s morning. After watching the horror that was the Olympic MTB event the night before, riders were keen to attack the relative ease of the Colquhuon Forest. Steve McRae turned in an awesome performance to win by almost 3 minutes from Bairnsdale triathlete Brad Fisher with Leongatha’s Tony Clark a further 4 minutes behind. All 3 completed 10 laps of a slightly technical but very fast 5.7km circuit. Also on 10 laps were Ashley Higman, one of Australia’s lading adventure racers Deanna Blegg from Melbourne, Sale’s Dave Arnup & the team from Drouin – Kyle Blackstock & Lance Renshaw.
